How to Use Self-Deleting Notes Safely
Once the time you set when saving has passed, access to a bombMemo note is blocked immediately, and the text, photos and files are all deleted from the server within about 1 minute. We keep no backups. Still, as long as you use the sharing feature, there are a few things you should always keep in mind.
Safety rules
- Do not send sensitive information: It is best not to send anything that would cause trouble if leaked, such as passwords, national ID numbers or card numbers, through any temporary note service.
- Keep the time short: If you are moving something right away, 1 or 3 minutes is enough. The shorter the time, the less chance the code is exposed.
- Give the code only to the recipient: Anyone who knows the code can open the note. Do not post the code in public places.
- Be careful with random browsing: When a logged-in member turns on "🎲 Publish for random browsing", people who do not know the code can see the note. Publish only what you are comfortable showing to anyone.
- Check received files before opening: Make sure the file is from someone you know before you open it.
Safer when you log in
If you log in with Google, you can save a note privately and share it only when needed, and you can delete a finished note yourself before its time is up. Even when you are logged in, the recipient is not shown who sent the note.
